Terms and Conditions of Use

Last updated: 29.09.2026

These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the KnotWise website www.knotwise.in and all services offered through it (together, the “Platform”). The Platform is owned and operated by Knotwisemarital Consulting LLP, having its principal place of business at ST 101, 1st floor, Eldeco Studio, Sector 93A, Noida 201304 (“KnotWise”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By creating an account, booking a session, making a payment, or otherwise using the Platform, you (“you” or “User”) confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and do not require any physical or digital signature.

1. Definitions

  • 1.1 “Guide” means an independent professional — including emotional/relationship counsellors, financial guides and legal guides — registered on the Platform to conduct Sessions.
  • 1.2 “Session” means a single, self-contained pre-marital guidance sitting booked through the Platform, conducted online or in person as specified at the time of booking.
  • 1.3 “Assessment” means any questionnaire, self-reflection exercise or similar tool made available on the Platform before, during or after a Session.
  • 1.4 “Content” means all text, graphics, videos, audio, worksheets, Assessments, session materials, logos, designs and other material available on the Platform.
  • 1.5 “Partner” means the person with whom a User books or attends a Session as a couple.

2. Eligibility

2.1 You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and competent to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to use the Platform.

2.2 Where a Session is booked for a couple, the booking User confirms that the Partner has consented to attend the Session and to the sharing of any information required for it.

2.3 We may refuse registration, suspend or cancel any account or booking if we reasonably believe that these eligibility conditions are not met.

3. Nature of Our Services

3.1 KnotWise provides pre-marital preparation and guidance. Sessions are designed to help couples reflect on, discuss and prepare for married life across emotional, relational, financial and legal dimensions.

3.2 No compatibility verdict. A Session, Assessment or any output of the Platform is not, and must not be treated as, a verdict, certification, score or prediction of compatibility, or a recommendation on whether or not to marry. All decisions about your relationship remain entirely yours.

3.3 Not a substitute for professional services. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Sessions do not constitute:

  • psychotherapy, psychiatric care, medical diagnosis or treatment;
  • investment, insurance, tax or other personalised financial advice, or any recommendation of a specific financial product, scheme or platform;
  • legal advice, legal opinion or legal representation in any matter; or
  • crisis or emergency support.

3.4 Where your circumstances require specialised help, a Guide may suggest that you consult an appropriately qualified and registered professional (for example, a SEBI-registered investment adviser, a licensed insurance adviser, a chartered accountant, an advocate, or a mental-health professional). Any such engagement is independent of KnotWise and at your own discretion and cost.

3.5 Emergencies. The Platform is not an emergency service. If you or anyone else is in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services (dial 112 in India) or an appropriate helpline.

4. Guides

4.1 Guides are independent professionals and not employees or agents of KnotWise. They are engaged on a non-exclusive basis and are responsible for the professional advice and guidance they provide.

4.2 We take reasonable steps to review the qualifications and experience of Guides before onboarding them, but we do not guarantee any particular outcome from a Session.

4.3 Guides are not permitted to solicit Users for personal business, sell or recommend specific financial products, or ask Users to transact with them outside the Platform in connection with a Session booked through KnotWise. Please report any such conduct to us at grievances@knotwise.in.

4.4 We may assign or substitute a Guide of comparable expertise where the originally assigned Guide becomes unavailable.

5. Accounts

5.1 You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when registering and to keep it updated.

5.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

5.3 Accounts are personal and may not be transferred, sold or shared.

6. Booking and Sessions

6.1 Each Session is a single, self-contained sitting. The topics, format, duration and Guide(s) applicable to your Session will be shown at the time of booking.

6.2 A booking is confirmed only when full payment has been received and you receive a confirmation by email or on your dashboard.

6.3 Please join on time. Sessions will end at the scheduled time; time lost due to late arrival by the User will not be extended or refunded.

6.4 For online Sessions, you are responsible for a stable internet connection, a suitable device and a private, quiet setting. KnotWise is not responsible for disruptions caused by your own connectivity or equipment.

6.5 Rescheduling. You may request to reschedule a confirmed Session once per booking, free of charge and subject to Guide availability, provided you give at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled start time, as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Requests made with less notice, or a second request to reschedule, are treated as a cancellation by you.

6.6 A Guide may end a Session early if a User behaves abusively, is under the influence of intoxicants, or otherwise makes it unsafe or impossible to continue. No refund will be due in such a case.

7. Fees and Payment

7.1 Fees for Sessions are displayed on the Platform in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of applicable taxes (including GST) unless stated otherwise.

7.2 Payments are processed by third-party payment gateways. KnotWise does not store your card, UPI or bank account details. Your use of a payment gateway is subject to that provider’s terms, and KnotWise is not liable for failures, delays or errors caused by it.

7.3 We may change our fees at any time. Fee changes will not affect bookings that are already confirmed and paid for.

7.4 Any promotional code or discount is subject to its own conditions, has no cash value and cannot be combined with other offers unless stated.

8. Cancellations and Refunds

Our Refund & Cancellation Policy sets this out in full and governs: where it and these Terms differ about cancellations, refunds or rescheduling, that Policy prevails. It also covers situations these clauses do not, including duplicate charges and failed payments that are reversed. In summary:

8.1 Refunds are available only where:

  • the assigned Guide cancels the Session and no suitable substitute Guide or alternative slot acceptable to you is provided; or
  • the assigned Guide fails to attend the Session (a Guide no-show).

8.2 No refund will be issued where:

  • you cancel the Session;
  • you or your Partner do not attend, or join too late for the Session to proceed (a User no-show);
  • the Session ends early for the reasons set out in clause 6.6; or
  • you are dissatisfied with the content, outcome or conduct of a Session that has taken place.

8.3 Eligible refunds are initiated to the original payment method within 5 working days of approval. The time for the amount to reflect in your account depends on your bank or payment provider, and is typically a further 5 to 10 working days.

8.4 If you have a concern about a Session, please write to grievances@knotwise.in within 7 days of the scheduled session date. While dissatisfaction is not grounds for a refund, we review all feedback and will take appropriate action with the Guide where warranted.

9. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • provide false information or impersonate any person;
  • harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against any Guide, Partner or KnotWise staff;
  • record, photograph, stream or share any Session without the prior written consent of the Guide and all participants;
  • copy, reproduce, redistribute or commercially exploit any Content;
  • attempt to contact a Guide to arrange Sessions outside the Platform in order to avoid Platform fees;
  • upload malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with the security or functioning of the Platform; or
  • use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law.

10. Confidentiality

10.1 Guides are required to keep information shared during a Session confidential.

10.2 Confidentiality may be set aside where disclosure is required by law, by an order of a court or competent authority, or where there is a reasonable belief that a User or another person is at serious risk of harm.

10.3 Sessions attended as a couple are shared spaces. Information you share in the presence of your Partner will be heard by your Partner, and KnotWise cannot control how a Partner uses it.

10.4 KnotWise does not record Sessions unless you are informed in advance and give your express consent.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

11.1 We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

11.2 Some information you provide — such as responses to Assessments or details about your relationship, finances or health — may be sensitive. We use it only to deliver and improve the Services, share it with your assigned Guide(s) as needed for your Session, and protect it with reasonable security safeguards.

11.3 You may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, or withdraw your consent, by writing to grievances@knotwise.in, subject to our legal retention obligations.

12. Intellectual Property

12.1 The Platform and all Content, including the KnotWise name, logo, brand elements, Assessments, session frameworks and materials, are owned by or licensed to KnotWise and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

12.2 We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Platform and use materials shared with you solely for your own private, non-commercial use in connection with your Session.

12.3 Any feedback or suggestions you give us may be used by KnotWise without obligation to you.

13. Disclaimers

13.1 The Platform and Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, KnotWise disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including as to fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or any particular outcome.

13.2 KnotWise does not guarantee that any relationship, marriage, financial or legal outcome will follow from a Session. Guidance offered is general in nature and based on the information you provide.

13.3 The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for their content, policies or practices.

14. Limitation of Liability

14.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, KnotWise, its partners, employees and Guides shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, or for any personal, relationship, financial or legal decision taken by you, arising from your use of the Platform or a Session.

14.2 Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the fees actually paid by you for the Session giving rise to the claim.

14.3 Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KnotWise and its partners, employees and Guides from any claims, losses, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or your misuse of the Platform.

16. Suspension and Termination

16.1 You may close your account, and ask us to delete it, at any time by writing to query@knotwise.in. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund except as set out in clause 8.

16.2 We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect Guides, other Users or the Platform.

16.3 Clauses that by their nature should survive termination — including those on intellectual property, confidentiality, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law — will survive.

17. Grievance Redressal

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the details of our Grievance Officer are:

  • Name: Sunil Mutreja
  • Designation: Grievance Officer
  • Email: grievances@knotwise.in
  • Address: ST 101, 1st floor, Eldeco Studio, Sector 93A, Noida 201304
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm IST

We will acknowledge complaints within forty-eight (48) hours and endeavour to resolve them within fifteen (15) days of receipt.

18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

18.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

18.2 The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably through good-faith discussion for a period of thirty (30) days.

18.3 Any dispute not so resolved shall be referred to arbitration by a sole arbitrator appointed by the consent of both parties, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be New Delhi, and proceedings shall be conducted in English.

18.4 Subject to the above, the courts at New Delhi shall have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause limits any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 to approach a consumer commission.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will reflect the latest version, and material changes will be notified by email or on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Bookings confirmed before a change will be governed by the Terms in force at the time of booking.

20. General

20.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund & Cancellation Policy and any terms shown at the time of booking, form the entire agreement between you and KnotWise regarding the Platform.

20.2 Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

20.3 No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.

20.4 Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours to an affiliate or successor.

20.5 Force majeure. KnotWise is not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, government action, internet or power outages, or strikes.
